A redbud tree us a brilliant, showy tree that grows in the southern United States. It is a tough little tree, competing with much larger trees for daylight and often is found growing in very tough clay soil or rocky woodlands. I view the redbud tree as a metaphor for women today. It is a challenge today, to even exist in this world much less flower, year after year. Yet, like this tough little tree, we continue on. |
